2 More Nice Days Before Clouds Rain Ocean Wind Return

Back to back sunny days have hopefully put everyone in a better mood especially today as temperatures ran into the 60s in many locations and most areas enjoyed wall to wall sunshine on Saturday. We certainly have room for 2 more full days of nice weather before clouds return on Tuesday and rain comes in late in the day Tuesday and Tuesday night into Wednesday. Low pressure is making its way into the Western Gulf States tonight but it is moving very slowly. Some of the high clouds might pass through from time to time tonight and again on Sunday but that is the only issue on the cards. High pressure to the north remains in firm control so Sunday and Monday will both features sunshine and most highs will reach the low to mid 60s.

There is nothing happening on the regional and local radars nor will there be in the coming days. By Tuesday as high pressure slides to the east, the southern moisture begins its move northward. The NAM model has the rain moving into Southern New Jersey & Southeastern Pennsylvania Tuesday afternoon and on the doorstep of NYC Tuesday night.

2 More Nice Days Before Clouds Rain Ocean Wind Return

The low along the coast will keep us in rain for most of Wednesday before it moves into New England however there is energy coming out of the Plains right behind it so don’t expect much improvement behind it an in fact more rain could come in Thursday night and Friday. There is yet a third system coming into the Northern Plains that could be a problem for Saturday.

GFS UPPER AIR THURSDAY APRIL 26, 2018

The upper air is very energetic with 3 distinct systems in play. The fact that all three short waves remain separate features means we probably won’t see a major storm out of this but that third system coming out of the Northern Plains and into the Upper Midwest will need to be watched to see if it decides to dig and strengthen as it approaches the East Coast. Through all of this the temperatures will remain cooler than average probably right through the end of the month. It would appear that next weekend is not likely to be as nice as this one.
