Winter Storm Warnings Snow Heavy At Times Into This Afternoon
6 to 10 Inches in Most Places
Winter Storm Warnings are up into midday and early afternoon as a storm system moves off the Virginia coast this morning and strengthens into a major storm. Snow has already moved in across Pennsylvania to Connecitcut. Some areas in Central and South Jersey and Southeast Pennsylvania are changing over to snow as the storm draws colder air in aloft. This should be fast and by midday the snow will be done from New Jersey west and and end from west to east across Southern New England and Long island after 1pm
The heaviest snow will be setting up from Eastern Pennsylvania, the northern half of New Jersey to NYC, Connecticut, Long Island, and Southeast New England. 6 to 8 inches seems doable and some areas could see as high as 9 or 10 inches. Along the immediate coast it might be a little less especially along the New Jersey from Ocean County southward. Temperatures will settle near the freezing mark while it is snowing, especially as moderate or heavy snow falls with 1//4 mile or less visibility.

WEATHER RADAR
The radar is loaded and impressive but thankfully this is going to be a fast mover once the low moves offshore. Weather conditions will improve from west to east during this afternoon and skies clearing out this evening and tonight. Temperatures by morning will be in the 20s just about everywhere so what doesn’t melt freezes.
Wednesday will be a sunny day but chilly with highs mostly in the 30s. Thursday we see sunshine and some clouds as the next low approaches from the Great Lakes. Highs will be in the upper 30s and lower 40s. A cold front will pass Thursday night into Friday morning with a rain or snow shower or two, a second system will arrive Saturday with some showers and snow to the north. Weather systems are moving along and at least for now no additional accumulating snow events are in the cards.
