WINTER STORM WARNING

SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY CENTRAL LONG ISLAND SE CONNECTICUT

The National Weather Service has now raised the season’s first Winter Storm Warnings for Southern New Jersey south of Route 195. Winter Storm Warnings are also posted for Western & Central Suffolk County and for Southeastern Connecticut. Winter Weather Advisories are up for much of the area except for Northwest New Jersey & the Hudson Valley north and west of Rockland County. The maps below are the latest updated National Weather Service snow forecasts for all regions from Virginia to New England. The stalled front to our south and the developing wave moving northeastward are producing quite a bit of rain and an expanding area of snow this evening from Southern New Jersey southwestward as far south as New Orleans. Temperatures and wind direction will be key on Saturday as snow moves northward through Southern and Central New Jersey overnight and reaches Route 78 to NYC & Long Island around daybreak and then spreads north and northeastward from there. We will break down what to expect a little later this evening.
