LAST BURST OF SNOW & RAIN MOVING THROUGH THIS MORNING

WEATHER IMPROVES FOR THE WEEKEND

We are still dealing with yesterday’s snow rain and wind as the back edge of the storm moves through this morning. This was the probably the largest snow fall every observed for the area so early in the season with many areas getting 6 inches or more including NYC. Areas from Northwest New Jersey & the Hudson Valley into Connecticut got 6 to 10 inches. At least this time of year with average temperatures up into the 50s it will be a natural reflex for temperatures to at least try to snap back toward those levers for the next several days.

The comma head cloud structure on the satellite loop is what is moving through now. Winds along the coast have been gusting to 50 mph this morning but those winds should drop off. We should see leftover clouds give way to some sunshine. Temperatures should get back into the 40s and some melting should commence.

Skies will clear out tonight with lows in the 30s. The weekend looks good with sunshine and Saturday and partly sunny skies for at least part of Sunday. Highs both days will be in the 40s. We have a cold front coming through Sunday night with the chance for a shower and then it is back to clouds and some sun to start off Thanksgiving week with highs Monday in the 40s.

Next Tuesday a cold front arrives that won’t have much with it other than clouds but there is a shot of cold air behind it that will move in for Tuesday night and Wednesday. This will be every bit as cold as it was yesterday and in some places even colder.

At least it will be dry though through all of Thanksgiving week with some sunshine on Wednesday for the getaway big travel day but highs will be just in the 30s. Thanksgiving looks nice with some sunshine and highs back in the 40s.
