Weekend Forecast Looking Good
Last week at this time we were watching snow spreading rapidly northward out of the Middle Atlantic States as Blizzard 2016 was about to get underway. This week we are at the opposite end of that spectrum as we set up for a tranquil weekend with temperature changes and clouds being the biggest issues. Skies tonight will become mostly clear as dry cold air takes over and lows will be in the 20s with some teens in the coldest spots. There will be enough wind however to keep temperatures rather uniform.
The satellite loop shows clouds moving into the midwest already in response to milder air coming east. Some of those clouds will get in here on Saturday but not enough to completely get rid of the sunshine. Saturday will be the coldest of the two weekend days with most highs in the 30s to near 40.

The milder air will be felt at ground level on Sunday with some sunshine and a few clouds with highs in most places in the 40s and some areas could reach upper 40s.
Monday sees the arrival of a cold front which now appears to be passing through here. Showers are possible Monday followed by chilly air and a developing onshore flow Monday night into Tuesday night. Temperatures Monday should reach the 50s but Tuesday we will be back in the 40s and in northern areas temperatures may top in the low 40s at best.
Weekend Forecast Looking Good Next Wednesday’s Highs
Wednesday brings rain and mild temperatures in the 50s and even some 60s. By Wednesday all the snow cover should be gone. This is in response to a developing storm that will head to the Great Lakes. Behind that storm it will turn colder for late next week and beyond.
