Weekend Forecast & Long Range Forecast New York, New Jersey, Connecticut

The next few days the weather pattern looks pretty benign and uneventful as both the European model and the GFS weather model show. There really isn’t anything too exciting here from the standpoint of colder weather as the jet stream pattern has a signature warm look to it on both models.

In the short range today look for sunshine which will probably give way to some afternoon clouds as a disturbance moves by to the north. Showers with this will probably stay to the north as well. Temperatures today will not get out of the 50s and probably hold in the 40s to lower 50s overnight thanks to cloud cover.

saturday

Once that moves out Sunday morning, Sunday afternoon looks to be partly sunny with temperatures back into the 60s.

sunday

To the south we have a weather system that will be moving through and that too might produce some clouds Sunday night into Monday but no showers with that either as the 2 flows in the jet stream pattern remain separate. Monday we will see a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the 60s. Then for Tuesday through Thursday of next week look for some sunshine and mild temperatures each day with highs reaching into the 70s in many locations.

monday

No rain is forecast probably for the entire work week ahead and no big storms are on the horizon for the next week to 10 days unless there is a major shift in the upper air pattern which at this point I do not foresee.

Enjoy your weekend. Halloween is about as uneventful as it can get. Sunday looks ok if you dont’ mind morning clouds. Marathon runners in the NY Marathon Sunday morning will have relatively good conditions with not much wind and clouds with reasonable temperatures in the 50s. The Mets have decent baseball weather for games 4 and 5 tonight and Sunday night with temperatures near 60 at game time tonight and in the lower 60s at least at game time Sunday night.
