Warm Spring Morning Record Highs Possible
When you are starting out the day with temperatures already in the upper 40s to mid 50s there is no question that the launching pad is set for blastoff and that is the case today. With high pressure off the Middle Atlantic coast and a west southwest wind everywhere except right along the ocean, temperatures are heading for record highs today in some places.
Across Southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey northeast to the Hudson Valley into parts of interior Connecticut highs will reach the 80s. Along the immediate coast the issue is going to be the wind direction especially for south facing shore lines. The ocean is still so cold that the sea breeze actually has continued for much of the night with south to southwest winds. The bar is set low for records along coastal areas where low 70s will do it. Inland highs need to reach low 80s to set new records.
The satellite loop shows clear skies up and down the east coast. Clouds over the Great Lakes indicate the next cold front which will move through the area on Wednesday. Some of those clouds wiil increase tonight from west to east.

As far as showers go on Wednesday they should be few and far between as the front will be weak. Temperatures Wednesday could reach the 70s again but it will be lower than today. Thursday and Friday will be cooler with most highs in the 60s. Right now as far as Easter Weekend goes, Saturday we will see sunshine give way to arriving clouds with highs in the upper 50s to lower 60s. There could be a few passing showers with a warm front going by Saturday night. Easter Sunday we see clouds and some sun but the chance for late showers or a thunderstorm with highs reaching back into the 70s.
