WARM SPRING FALL DAY RECORD HIGHS POSSIBLE

Here we are at late morning and with the warm front long past us to the north we are seeing temperatures already approaching 70 degrees in some areas. There are clouds around but there are some breaks of sun as well so we should reach 70 to 75 this afternoon. Some reporting stations with small data sets might see record highs today though the records at the big stations are in the 80s and we will fall well short of that.

The cold front to the west is still a day or so away so those clouds will be moving in later tonight and Friday but the front is rather weak so Friday looks to be much like today with clouds mixed with sunshine and highs again reaching 70 to 75. Winds will shift to the north later in the day. Dry cool air comes in Friday night and sets us up for a cool dry start for the weekend.

There are a lot of showers on the regional radar but they are well to the north of us and there are no showers to worry about today unless an isolated sprinkle shows up in an odd spot or two.

As far as the weekend is concerned, Saturday will be the better of the two weekend days. We should see a mix of sun and clouds Saturday but with a north or northeast wind highs will only be in the 50s. This sets us up for another warm front approaching on Sunday with clouds and the chance for showers but it does not look like an all day washout. Temperatures might struggle a bit on Sunday until the warm front passes. Then Monday ahead of the next cold front we could see temperatures again reach into the 70s followed by cooler air Tuesday through the rest of next week. We may be setting up for a couple of waves of low pressure going by to our south with one on Tuesday which could produce some rain and again on Thursday or Friday which looks to be a stronger low.
