Warm Front Approaches Showers Tonight Then Rising Temperatures

80s Monday Away From The Ocean

A warm front is to our west today and it will be heading east. This will transition much of the Northeast & Northern Mid Atlantic states into a very warm air mass for Sunday and Monday. The day starts with sunshine but as we move through this Saturday look for high clouds to come in from the west and gradually increase. Temperatures today will reach into the 60s away from the ocean thanks to a south southeast wind. The dayside is dry but the front will mass through tonight and with it come a few scattered showers. Temperatures overnight will likely hold in the upper 40s and lower 50s.

While the warm front does produce a few scattered showers, rainfall amounts will be on the order of a tenth of an inch or less in most places. Most of the showers should be gone by daybreak or shortly afterwards and Sunday we will see decreasing clouds from west to east and increasing sunshine, especially in the afternoon. Winds will be southwest and temperatures will rise into and through the 70s in most places. Some warm spots could touch the 80 degree level.

Sunday night we will see clouds and maybe a shower or two as as weak disturbance goes by. Monday is going to be a very warm day indeed. Southwest winds and high pressure off the Southeast US coast will send temperatures soaring into and, in some cases in Southern New Jersey and Southeastern Pennsylvania we could see high temperatures approach the 90 degree mark!

Tuesday we see a bit of a weather front coming from the west and a backdoor front dropping southwest through New England. Both fronts are on the weak side but it will lead to some clouds coming into play Tuesday and the risk for late showers or a thunderstorm. Tuesday highs will be mostly in the mid 70s to lower 80s. Once again any rain later Tuesday into Tuesday night won’t amount to much and dry weather conditions seem likely with above normal temperatures appear likely Wednesday through next Friday.
