Showers Thunderstorms Late Tuesday
A warm front has passed through the area overnight with some showers and it has now pushed on to the east. It is a matter of getting through the leftover clouds today which will occur from west to east. Look for decreasing amounts of clouds and increasing amounts of sunshine from west to east. Winds have shifted from southeast to southwest and once the sun gets going, temperatures will climb to the mid 70s to around 80 degrees. Showers on the radar are well to the northeast and are no longer an issue.

WEATHER RADAR
A powerful storm and cold front are moving through the Mississippi River Valley from north to south and for the 4th consecutive day areas in the Plains and Mississippi Valley are experiencing severe weather and elevated tornado risk. The cold front is only making slow eastward progress and that bodes well for the big warm up in the Eastern US over the next 2 days.
This cold front will be heading eastward over the next 2 days but the storm system driving this front will head into South Central Canada and weaken. This will leave us with a weak front with limited shower and thunderstorm activity when it arrives Tuesday. Ahead of all thtos Monday we have sunshine and temperatures that will be very warm to down right hot for this time of year.
Monday highs will be in the mid to upper 80s in most inland areas and I wouldn’t be shocked to see someone get to 90 degrees in Central and South Jersey. Meanwhile along south and east facing shorelines, sea breezes will cool things off. Tuesday will still be very warm but more clouds and the approaching front will men for temperatures reaching the upper 70s to middle 80s.
The shower and thunderstorm risk will play through Tuesday afternoon and evening but we are not expecting any kind of severe weather outbreak. Dry air returns Wednesday with clouds and some sunshine and temperatures in the 70s. Another storm in the Plains late week heading to the Great Lakes means uneventful and mostly dry weather for the rest of the week and into the start of next weekend.
