Very Warm Humid Scattered Downpours Thunderstorms
Overnight parts of the area did see some rain and this morning on the satellite loop we can see there are lots of clouds around. You wonder whether this cloud cover will break up enough to allow for some sunshine. This will probably keep temperatures down to some degree today. Thunderstorms will produce heavy rains however there is no threat for organized severe weather today.

Regional and local radars show an east west band of downpours and thunderstorms that are sliding slowly southeastward this morning. Some areas in Northern New Jersey to Long Island are seeing some rain. This area should gradually weaken this morning as the southward shift continues.

Highs today will be mostly in the 80s. There could be some scattered downpours and thunderstorms popping up into this evening with a warm and humid night following. Lows in the upper 60s to mid 70s. Monday will be the one hot day with sunshine and highs reaching the upper 80s and lower 90s. Tuesday brings a cold front and the likelihood for downpours and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the 80s. Then we will transition over to lower humidity and sunshine for Wednesday and Thursday.
Subtropical Storm Beryl is sitting off the New Jersey coast several hundred miles to the east. Top winds of 40 mph. Gales offshore will create some rip current issues for the coastal areas today from Long Island to Delaware so if you are headed for the beaches beware the possibility of rip currents.
