Thunderstorms Popping Again Cold Front Nears
It is another day in the steam bath with temperatures in the upper 80s and lower 90s with high humidity. The set up this afternoon and evening is similar to the set up we had yesterday though that doesn’t necessarily mean the outcome will be the same or that the thunderstorms will once again occur in the same places. Just remember that the risk is there this evening so keep an eye to the sky for threatening weather. The marginal risk for the severe weather continues for the rest of the day into tonight as well.
Satellite and radars are showing storms firing up in Eastern Pennsylvania and upstate NY as of 2:30pm. Thunderstorms are slowly moving east. Flash flooding could be an issue again in stronger thunderstorms that take their time moving through.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
Thunderstorms will wind down after dark and then we can look ahead to Thursday and Friday which should be free from any downpours or thunderstorms. The humidity is another question however as it will only drop slowly with Friday being a day where it will feel slightly better. Temperatures the next 2 days will be very warm with highs in the 80s to near 90.
The outlook for the weekend remains the same in my view. The best way to approach it is that there is the chance for downpours and thunderstorms though whole day wash outs are unlikely. There should be dry stretches. Temperatures will be just into the 80s on Saturday and in the low to mid 80s Sunday.
Once again keep an eye to sky regarding severe weather threats going into this evening.
Please note that with regards to any tropical storms or hurricanes, should a storm be threatening, please consult your local National Weather Service office or your local government officials about what action you should be taking to protect life and property.
