Sunshine Everywhere Temperatures 80s Beautiful May Day

After yesterday’s spectacular day we are embarking on another winner today with lots of sunshine. The satellite picture this morning shows nothing but clear skies in the East so we will enjoy lots of sun all day long and temperatures that will climb at least 5 degrees higher than yesterday. I’m expecting highs in the low to middle 80s with a coastal sea breeze developing but not until mid or late afternoon.

Conditions can dry out awfully fast at this point so a red flag warning is up for New Jersey & Eastern Pennsylvania so do be careful outside with any open flame. It is likely that we will see this again on Thursday though the humidity levels will be inching up somewhat.

Thursday is going to be a very warm to hot day and some areas in New Jersey could see their first 90 degree readings of the season. I think the best chances for that will be Central and South Jersey away from the ocean.

THURSDAY FORECAST HIGH TEMPERATURES

Im leaving any mention of showers or a thunderstorm out of the forecast for Thursday. While the odd pop up shower could happen I think the best chances for them will be in Upstate NY. Friday will be another day of highs in the 80s and in  some cases mid to upper 80s but there will be a few more clouds and an approaching cold front with the risk for showers or a thunderstorm Friday night.

Weekend Weather Forecast Leaning Optimistic Though Cooler

Weather models aren’t showing much regarding this weather front. I continue to lean optimistic for the weekend to some degree. There will be clouds around both days but there should be some breaks of sunshine. The question is whether the front buckles and stalls. There is some suggesting that a wave could develop on the front and bring some showers here on Sunday but for now we will wait until later today or tonight to issue a verdict on this.
