Sunshine Dry Cold Weather Rain Late Friday Weekend
Clouds from Sunday have sunk southward as the Mid Atlantic snowstorm has moved out to the east. A second low is developing there today but for us the dry air from Southeastern Canada has been drawn southward. We are going to see a sunny cold Monday with highs in the upper 30s to around 40 in most places. There are no weather issues today other than some passing clouds from time to time. Local radars are quiet and we actually don’t expect anything precipitation wise into Friday.

Meanwhile we have a second low that will be developing today off the North Carolina coast and as a result we have a second round of rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow occurring and Winter Storm warnings continue for parts of Southern Virginia and interior North Carolina. Some areas could see an additional 1 to 3 inches of snow today.
The next three days, Tuesday through Thursday, will be dry with some sunshine each day and highs will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s. High pressure in New England and Southeastern Canada holds on until the end of the week and that is when the next storm heads our way from the Southern Plains.
There won’t be any cold air with this storm so it is all rain but it will be a 2 inch plus rain producer up and down the East Coast which means those areas sitting in heavy snow are going to see that snow washed away in a big hurry so flooding could be the next problem in the areas that have just gotten buried in Virginia and North Carolina. We here could see a 1 to 2 inch rainfall from this with rain arriving Friday night and Saturday.
