Strong Thunderstorms Moving Through Northeast NJ NYC Heading East
The lead line of thunderstorms is moving through Northeast New Jersey, NYC into the Hudson Valley and soon headed into Western Long Island. There has been frequent lightning and thunder with very heavy rains falling in some areas. Flood Advisories have been going up for various areas in Northern New Jersey and more counties in the area will likely join in during the next few hours. Radars are about as busy as they get both on the regional and local radars.

The line seems to be holding together as it moves east. There are more downpours behind the main line and we will watch to see if additional strong cells develop as we head into the evening rush hour drive. Rainfall amounts of several inches could occur in a very short period of time under some of the stronger thunderstorms. Flash flood warnings are up now for a small portion of Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Weather conditions will improve overnight as skies clear and humidity drops along with temperatures which will head for the 60s by morning. Low humidity and sunshine with be with us Wednesday with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Thursday and Friday will be nice and sunny with most highs 80 to 85.
