Solar Eclipse April 8th 2024, what you need to know
when the moon passes between earth and the sun!
onday April 8th 2024 is going to be a special, exciting day as parts of the US from Texas northeast to Upstate NY and Southeastern Canada will experience a total eclipse of the sun. This is when the moon passes between our planet and the sun, and for a little over 4 minutes, the sun will disappear from view.
Meteorologist Joe Rao who has spend over 40 years as a weather forecaster in the New York, New Jersey, Connecticut tri-state area and is co-host of the nightly Joe & Joe Weather Show on Youtube with his colleague Meteoroligst Joe Cioffi. He is also works at the world famous Hayden Planetaruim in New York City. Many of you may be curious as to what a solar eclipse is and why they occur. Tonight Joe will be giving a presentation on the science behind solar eclipses a the Kings & Daughters Library in Havestraw NY. He will also take you through the process and what you can expect when the eclipse reaches its peak.
