Snow Showers Biting Cold & Wind Continues
The major storm to the north continues to move into Southeastern Canada with upper air disturbances rotating around producing clouds and snow showers all around the area this afternoon. Temperatures are very cold and it looks like most areas will not make it out of the 20s. Deep snow cover is keeping the area in a refrigerator and areas along the immediate coast that have much less are getting that cold air sent down to them on strong and gusty west to northwest winds. Wind chills are down in the single digits and low teens.

Regional and local radars show waves of snow showers moving southeast from Upstate NY and Pennsylvania. These should continue into this evening before gradually disappearing for the overnight as skies begin to clear out.

Thursday we will see more sunshine and fewer clouds. Highs should reach the balmy 30s. Then Friday starts with sunshine and that gives way to arriving clouds. Highs will reach the mid to upper 30s.
Friday night and Saturday low pressure will move southeast from the Great Lakes and redevelop along the Virginia coast. At the moment weather models show the system remaining relatively weak but there will be some precipitation with this. The chance for rain or snow is in the forecast for late Friday night and Saturday. This should be a light event. No weather model at the moment is indicating this developing into a larger storm. Some areas might be in line for a coating to a few inches. Before we commit to anything we will wait for another weather model run or 2 in order to see if any important trends develop. Once the system moves out Saturday night weather conditions improve and temperatures inch up a bit on Sunday.
