The maps below are the National Weather Service forecast snow maps with the most likely snowfall prediction. The weather service has gone rather bullish for areas north and northeast of the coast with higher amounts in Connecticut and NY State north of route 84 which would make sense. Also there are higher amounts north and west across New Jersey into Eastern Pennsylvania. Along the coast under an inch is forecast and in some cases nothing at all.

Now here is mine from last night for comparison. You can see that I’m in line in some ways with this and actually lower in other ways. At least that is the way things look at the moment.
I’m also becoming somewhat underwhelmed by all this since this is going to have to come rather fast Sunday night before warm air takes over and it changes to rain. The new model cycle is beginning now and this should begin the next round of forecasting torture. JOESTRADAMUS wrote more about this overnight with regards to weather models on his latest post.
In the meantime our weather is cold and dry into sunday with no issues on this regard. No snow is forecast until Sunday night so you should be fine with any weekend plans. Once this weather system is done we have an arctic front to deal with during the middle of next week. Then looks to give us another round of rain or snow later Wednesday into Wednesday night. Then a very cold air mass builds in for the rest of the week. The pattern going forward looks very active and cold right into Christmas with some volatility.
