While our area remains snow starved particularly areas in Southern Pennsylania and a few others, over the next week central and especially Northern New England will see plenty of snow. Ski areas will continue to be in great shape through next week even though the major storm heading for the Great Lakes brings a brief period of freezing rain and rain. But there will be enough snow on either side of this to keep any damage to a minimum.
This is the GFS snow forecast for the next week and the European snow forecast map is more robust. In fact the European has another snow event for New England later next weekend (rain for us) which shows nearly double these amounts for the 10 day period. In the meantime the weather pattern longer term for our area does not look good at all for snow lovers.
This upper air view for next weekend shows cold air locked away to the north and a westerly flow across the United States. Temperatures would go above normal beginning next weekend and it continues from day 8 through day 16 which covers the period from Feb 11-19th. About the only chance for colder weather bleeding into the Northeast US would be if (and its a big if) a negative NAO signal develops and strengthens. It is not impossible but other than that it seems to be a big long shot. If this verifies except for northern areas of the Northeast, you can stick a fork in snow chances for the next 2 weeks or possibly longer.
