Showers Colder Air Snow Showers Windy
Low pressure is moving across upstate New York this morning and into New England where Winter Storm Warnings are posted today for most areas north of I-90. Winter Weather Advisories extend southward to just north of Route 84.
For us we are in the warm air (for the most part) for the time being with temperatures in the 40s to near 50 into early afternoon. A cold front is getting ready to pass with a few showers and then cold air returns for tonight and Wednesday. The satellite loop shows the swirl of clouds over the Northeast as low pressure moves across upstate NY. Trailing clouds southward mark the cold front that is approaching from the west.

Regional radar shows an expanding area of snow to the north with some rain showers on the southern flank. Most of the precipitation is moving toward the northeast for the time being.

Once the front clears us temperatures will being to drop and we should be down in the teens to mid 20s by Wednesday morning. Wednesday afternoon highs will be in the upper 20s to lower 30s.
WEDNESDAY MORNING FORECAST LOWS
The next in a series of weather systems will be dropping southeastward out of Canada and heading our way for Thursday. This one will pass to our south but today’s storm will be sitting in Eastern Canada which doesn’t leave much room for this system to develop. However there may be enough for a period of snow or flurries Thursday for parts of the area and a light accumulation is possible in some places. This doesn’t look to be anything problematic at this point but it will make snow and winter weather lovers happy to see the white stuff fall. Weather models are in disagreement over another system will develop for later Friday and Friday night with the GFS the most bullish but here too it is a near miss. We will discuss both systems in detail later today.
