Severe Thunderstorms Moving Northward New Jersey
Downpours and thunderstorms are developing this afternoon across Southeastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey and they are moving northward. Several severe thunderstorm warnings have already been issued and we have a new severe thunderstorm warning for Central New Jersey.

Southeastern Bucks County in southeastern Pennsylvania…
* Until 215 PM EDT.
* At 127 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Woodside, or
near Trenton, moving northeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is
possible.
* Locations impacted include…
Trenton, New Brunswick, Somerset, East Brunswick, South Brunswick,
North Brunswick, Ewing, Princeton, Manville, Pennington, Yardley,
Newtown, Hopewell, Tullytown, Langhorne, Rocky Hill, Millstone,
Washington Crossing, Skillman and Flagtown.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
In addition to damaging winds, frequent cloud to ground lightning is
occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Remember, if
you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

The band is moving northward and we will likely see these thunderstorms move into Northern New Jersey in the next several hours. The eastern flank of these thunderstorms could reach NYC and the Lower Hudson Valley and possibly into Western Long Island. Keep your eyes to the sky for threatening weather.
