Severe Thunderstorm Watch Northern New Jersey
Severe Thunderstorm Watch Northern New Jersey
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch continues across the Northern Half of New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania mainly south of Route 84. We have already seen some severe thunderstorms move through parts of Eastern Pennsylvania near Allentown & Reading but those cells weakened to below severe criteria as they entered New Jersey.
There are two more lines to the west on the regional radar that are moving east so the risk for severe thunderstorms continues until 10pm when the watch is set to expire.
REGIONAL RADAR
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
The last band of thunderstorms will move through tomorrow morning from 5am to 10am as the HRRR shows. Actually earlier runs HRRR and the NAM model develop a fairly aggressive line of thunderstorms for Saturday morning. The latest HRRR model is much weaker over New Jersey and strengthens the line over Central & Eastern Long Island.
Once this last line moves out skies will rapidly clear out and we should be partly to mostly sunny just about everywhere by midday Saturday. Everything else in the forecast remains on schedule.
