Severe Coastal Flooding in South Jersey

Wildwood Beach is completely under water after the high tide tonight. Severe coastal flooding is occurring through much of coastal Southern New Jersey. Here are the high tide times for Coastal New Jersey beginning with the high tide tonight which occurs around or just after midnight. ThankTim Lovett for the picture. Rainfall has been substantial on the order of 1 to 1 1/2 inches on average and there is more rain for tonight. The rainfall this week does put a nice size dent in the rainfall deficit that exists thanks to the near drought conditions we have over many areas of New Jersey. We will continue to keep you informed on the  coastal flooding that is occuring and it will continue through the weekend. Each higher tide will probably be higher than the one before. The northeast fetch off the Atlantic will not relax until Monday or Tuesday at the earliest.
