Scattered Showers This Evening Weekend OK
Radars are showing some scattered showers and possibly one or two heavier downpours developing on the radar as we head into the evening as the next in a series of weak weather systems moves through. In some places it is barely enough to wet the windshield. Most places may wind up missing them entirely. The odd thunderstorm could still flare up until the system passes offshore this evening. Then we will have some clouds overnight. Temperatures today topped in the 70s and we should drop into the 50s tonight. During the early morning hours before daybreak another weak disturbance dropping southeast from Northern Pennsylvania could produce a few fast morning showers over parts of New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania and possibly as far north as NYC but it should move fairly quickly through and some sunshine will break through the clouds by mid morning Saturday or sooner in some places. Saturday afternoon should be no worse than partly sunny with temperatures in the 70s.

Sunday I am leaning dry for most of the day with some sun early and then more clouds. Weather models suggest any showers and thunderstorms will hold off until the evening hours and have been trending slower and warmer. We could see highs again in the 70s depending on clouds before the system approaches with showers and thunderstorms. I remain cautiously optimistic and outdoor plans should be carried out without much difficulty.
For early next week the weather becomes unsettled again as a strong upper air storm drops southeast from the Great Lakes and heads to the coast by Tuesday. Monday could be quite warm with the chance for showers and thunderstorms with some highs into the 80s. Weather models differ on Tuesday with the European and NAM model trending further north. If this is the case we may avert the onshore flow and see weather conditions improve Tuesday and Wedneday with just the chance for some showers on Tuesday and dry Wednesday and beyond.
