Record Highs Severe Weather Risk Wednesday
The Storm Prediction Center of the National Weather Service has extended its area of slight risk of severe thunderstorms Wednesday further north and now covers all of New Jersey to New York City as well as all of Pennsylvania southward through Virginia and North Carolina. Marginal risk extends into Southern New England and NY State from the Lower Hudson Valley to the Southern Adirondacks. The main threat time will be from mid afternoon through mid evening on Wednesday.

Also record highs in the 70s remain on course and there will be less of a marine influence this time around which means that thunderstorms might hold together as they near coastal areas.
In the meantime this morning we area starting the day rather cool with temperatures in the 40s as we wait for a warm front to arrive. Look for downpours to move in from the west late this afternoon and evening and there could be a thunderstorm or two with those when they go by. Temperatures today will be in the 50s and reach the 60s from Central New Jersey southward into Southern Pennsylvania and Delaware. Once those downpours are done later tonight we will see some patchy fog. Then some sun breaks through the clouds on Wednesday with temperatures in the 70s as we setup for the severe weather threat late in the day.

Thursday brings in dry cold air with most temperatures settling in the 40s. A weak low moves through the area Friday with a little bit of snow but for now this doesn’t appear to be a big deal. We will address this more later today.
