Record highs were shattered around noon today across New York and New Jersey and temperatures continue to rise. Winds have actually been holding west or even west northwest in some places and dew points in some places have actually dropped in the last couple of hours. We are watching along coastal areas to see if and when the sea breeze hits. So far you have to be on the beach to feel the effects of cooler ocean air.

There is hardly any cloud cover at the moment and not much on the satellite or radar loops. This will be the last of the hot days. Friday will be very warm with highs mostly in the 80s and there is the chance for a shower or thunderstorm when a cold front moves through. Then it is much cooler with sunshine Saturday and some sun and clouds Sunday. Highs will be in the cooler 60s to near 70. The weekend continues to look rain free. Showers and thunderstorms arrive on Monday with the next cold front followed by a cool wet pattern for later next week and possibly the Memorial Day weekend.
