Record High Temperatures This Afternoon New Jersey & SE PA
Looking at the 12 noon temperatures and looking at the satellite loop which shows nothing but clear skies it would seem record high temperatures will be hit in some places today in New Jersey & Southeastern Pennsylvania. The warm front seems to be setting up across New York City and Northern New Jersey so that Long Island, Connecticut and the Hudson Valley are being shielded somewhat with a southeast to south flow off the ocean.
Across Long Island, Southern New England and the Hudson Valley highs will be in the low to middle 80s. Northern New Jersey sees 90 or better. Everywhere else goes to 90 to 95.
Also with respect to any isolated thunderstorms developing late this afternoon, I have been dubious about this for days and I don’t think there will be anything until the cold front gets closer. That means near of after midnight western areas of New Jersey and after 2am or so along the coast. I think everything should be done by 8am from NYC west and maybe by 10am Eastern Long Island and Eastern Connecticut for Sunday morning. Then its sunshine developing from west to east for Sunday, lower humidity and temperatures in the 80s.
Monday and Tuesday are still on course for sunshine with low humidity both days and highs in the 70s to near 80. Sunday night and Monday night lows will be in the 50s to lower 60s under a nice clear sky. At least the 90s are done..and hopefully for good but don’t be surprised if it happens again one more time.
