We had a beautiful well deserved Sunday of sunshine and now we have one more dry day to enjoy before the next storm heads here for later Monday night into Tuesday night. The NAM model above shows us in the bulls eye of 2 inches or more of rain with another widespread 1 to 2 inch rainfall forecast for the entire area. The satellite loop below shows the intense upper air feature now swinging through the Western Gulf States producing a widespread severe weather outbreak tonight across Louisiana and expanding into Mississippi. That storm center heads northeast and right toward us though the severe weather aspect of it is not going to be an issue here.

There are no issues tonight or Monday to worry about as our radars are quiet and skies are clear for the overnight with lows in the 30s except for a few 20s in cold spots. Monday we will see sunshine give way to arriving clouds with highs in the 50s. Rain will arrive late Monday evening in most places and after midnight east of NYC and the Hudson Valley. Tuesday it is rain for everyone until the system pulls away Tuesday evening. Weather conditions improve on Wednesday before the next storm system arrives with more rain on Thursday.
