Quick Moving Weather System Tonight Otherwise Quiet Week Wet Weekend

The week begins with a weak storm system that is moving out of the Ohio Valley. You see two separate areas on the satellite loop wth one area of clouds moving off the Mid Atlantic coast and the other is coming out of Ohio and into Pennsylvania. The split nature of the system ensures that it won’t be anything that wil be too problematic.

We will be looking at increasing clouds later today and rain will be moving in late this afternoon and evneing and continue overnight into early Tuesday morning. There might some heavier rain as the low starts to amplify a bit offshore. Colder areas in Central New England could see a mix of rain and wet snow or even change briefly to wet snow late tonight. Everywhere else it is rain and that is all gone by daybreak. South and West of NYC the rain comes to an end much earlier tonight. Highs will be in the 50s today and we will be in the upper 30s and lower 40s by morning.

Tuesday we will see increasing amounts of sunshine and it will be a rather chilly day with highs mostly in the upper 40s and lower 50s. I don’t really see too much happening this week as weather systems are on the weak side and should just continue to move along from west to east. Wednesay we will have sunshine and some clouds with highs mostly in the 50s.

We do have a weak weather front and upper torugh moving through Wednesday night and there could be a passing rain shower overnight but that should be it. Thursday will see a shot of colder air behind the upper trough, leaving us with sunshine but it will be a chilly day with highs just in the 40s.

A rather large storm system will head toward the Great Lakes Friday and there will be a lot of moisture with this. The low moves across the Great Lakes and eventually into the Saint Lawrence Valley. Rain develops from west to east later Friday and it looks as if we will will have a rainy warm breezy Saturday where we could wind up with 1 inch plus rainfalls. Sunday will be the better of the two weekend days.
