Quick Shot of Cold Air Stronger Storm Late Friday Saturday

Quick Shot of Cold Air Stronger Storm Late Friday Saturday

Low pressure is moving away offshore but there is still some leftover moisture around as well as a wind from the northeast to  north so improvement will be slow to arrive. Look for lots of clouds today. Radars are still picking up on some scattered showers so we will throw in the chance though most of you likely won’t see much. High temperatures this afternoon will be in the low to middle 50s. We should finally see skies clear out tonight and lows by morning will be in the upper 20s to middle 30s.

Wednesday brings some sunshine. A cold front will be approaching Wednesday night but it looks to be on the weakish side. This leaves the daytime Wednesday dry with highs in the low to mid 50s.

A cold front and upper trough will swing through Wednesday night and with that there could be a brief shower of rain or even a snow shower inland. Much of the activity though falls apart as it moves east. This front & trough will be followed by a quick shot of cold air and by Thursday morning, we will see lows in the mid 20s to lower 30s.

Thursday will be a sunny day but for this time of year it will be a cold day with highs just in the 40s. While this shot of cold air comes in and moves out, we have a storm that will be coming out of the Central Plains and moving across the Great Lakes Friday and through the Saint Lawrence Valley Saturday.

A warm front will be setting up to our southwest as the storm strengthens. Rain will develop later Friday into Friday night. Most highs will be in the 50s. The front will pass and this sets up for a rather windy and warm Saturday along with the likelihood of showers and some thunderstorms. Highs will reach into the 70s in many locations.

Once a cold front moves through late Saturday we will see drier air come in for the second half of the weekend however the wind will be a big deal later Saturday into Sunday morning and we will probably see wind gusts over 40 mph. Sunday will be colder and some sunshine returns. Highs will reach barely into the 50s.
