No Major Storms Next 7 Days Week Ahead & Easter Weekend
Mostly Dry Except for Thursday, Coastal Flooding Continues
Major storm and 2 inch plus rains have been common place this month. This past weekend for example was the 3rd weekend of the last 4 weekends where we saw at least 1 inch of rainfall. We are also running double the normal rainfalls in many locations continuing the trend of the winter. So it is no wonder that everyone is a bit rain weary. A much needed break from the onslaught of major rain events takes a break this week and with some luck, Easter weekend which is coming up.
Today we have coastal flooding issues thanks to last night’s full moon and Coastal Flood Warnings and Coastal Flood Advisories are up from Delaware to Long Island. Minor to, in some areas, moderate coastal flooding is forecast at the high tides today. Low pressure is offshore centered west of Bermuda and dropping slowly southward. High Pressure in Eastern Canada is creating an onshore flow into the coast from the Northeast and that continues today and tonight. All the clouds with this are offshore so for the most part we have a nice sunny day ahead and temperatures will get back into the 50s with a gusty northeast breeze. No issues on the radar as the Eastern Seaboard is quiet and calm.

WEATHER RADAR
The onshore flow continues tonight into Tuesday morning but skies should be clear with most lows in the upper 20s inland and mid to upper 30s coast and warmer urban locations. Tuesday will be another nice day and the onshore flow begins to relax. Sunshine should take highs into the 50s with the exception being the immediate coast, Highs along the coast will likely be mostly in the 40s.
A major storm in the Plains has dumped snow across much of the Plains and Upper Midwest. This storm is prevented from moving east thanks to the storm sitting offshore south of Bermuda. The low instead heads northeast into Central Canada and the trailing cold front heads to the east. Showers and thunderstorms ahead of the front will head across the Ohio Valley but they will weaken and by the time the front reaches the coast late Wednesday, it may not have much with it.
The front does stall out overhead late Wednesdy and Wednesday night. While showers with the front are few and far between a wave develops on the front and brings up some rain especially for places near the coast from Delaware to Southern New England Wednesday night and Thursday. The developing storm moves east before it moves north which is good news because it will limit rainfall amounts to a half to maybe 3/4 of an inch. Wednesday and Thursday highs will be in the 50s. Once this system is done, it seems that we will be fine Friday through Easter Sunday. The exception maybe a weak weather front that moves through late Saturday or Saturday evening but at the moment, that front looks to be mostly dry. So other than a shower chance, the holiday weekend looks decent and no big rainfalls are forecast for a change.
