Nice Warm Temps Through Saturday
Colder With Growing Risks for Rain & Accumulating Snow Tuesday
Warmer air is moving in now that high pressure has moved offshore. There is a warm front that is moving through today and there are clouds ahead of it. Showers with the warm front are in a narrow band to the east and we will likely see clouds break up into some sunshine as we move through this Friday. Temperatures didn’t drop much overnight so highs this afternoon will likley reach the middle to upper 50s in many locations. This has been a rather nice 7 day stretch of weather but we will see changes get underway over the weekend.

We have a warm night ahead of us with Saturday morning lows in the upper 30s to lower 40s. Saturday dayside will feature sunshine and arriving clouds. We have a cold front that will be approaching so the high temperatures Saturday will depend on how much sun we see before clouds increase and take over during the afternoon
I think there is a chance we can go above model forecasts Saturday afternoon so we will call it highs in the mid 50s to around 60. There could be some scattered showers later Saturday afternoon into Saturday night as the front passes but it is possible that some areas don’t see any showers. Sunday will be a day of leftover clouds and some breaks of sunshine. Highs will be in the upper 40s and lower 50s.
The southern end of that cold front will be stalled across the Southern Mid Atlantic westward across the South to Texas where low pressure will develop during Sunday. This will spread rain across the South Saturday into Sunday. This low will move northeastward through the Central Appalachians and either redeveloping along the Delaware coast or strengthening as it moves eastward.
First off Monday we have no issues with sunshine giving way to arriving clouds and highs in the 40s. Colder air will be building southeastward into New England while the low strengthens, drawing colder air southward to the coast. This is going to be a very close call as intensifying lows with strong upper air support create ideal conditions for dynamic cooling, causing rain which develops late Monday night to change over to snow Tuesday, and in some cases, heavy accumulating snow for somebody.
The Weather Prediction Center has the southern edge of a 10 to 30 percent chance for a few inches to Philadelphia to NYC to Providence to Boston with 30 to 50 percent inland from Northeast Pennsylvania to Northwest New Jersey northeast into New England. This is an early forecast from WPC and I suspect the southern edge of the 10 to 30 percent area will be a adjusted southward. This system will move away later Tuesday and we will see snow and/or precipitation ending from west to east by evening. Temperatures Tuesday will be in the 30s and settle in the low 30s or even near 30 in areas where snow is falling. Colder air follows this storm system for the middle and latter part of next week.
