Nice Finish to the Week Showers Thunderstorm Late Saturday Chilly Easter Sunday

We are finishing the week on a lovely note. The satellite shows mostly clear skies from Maine to North Florida. Yesterday’s cold front is long gone and we are left with sunshine this afternoon. Highs will be in the mid to upper 60s in most places. There are no issues into Saturday morning and the radars are nice and quiet. Skies tonight should be mostly clear with most lows in the mid 40s to lower 50s.

We have a cold front approaching from the northwest on Saturday. We also have a strong upper trough that will be moving through the Northeast at the same time. This should mean dry conditions into Saturday afternoon and then we will see some showers and possibly a thunderstorm late in the Saturday into Saturday evening. Right now there is no severe weather risk being indicated by the Storm Prediction Center. I think there could be an isolated severe cell or two in the mix when showers go by Saturday evening.

As far as temperatures are concerned, Saturday’s highs will again be in the mid to upper 60s. A colder air mass comes in Saturday night and Sunday and that sets us up for a chilly but dry Easter Sunday.

Easter Sunday will be a breezy day thanks to low pressure to the northeast and high pressure building eastward. The pressure gradient is somewhat tight at least early on so there will be some gusts of 25 to 30 mph at times during the day Sunday. Sky wise it will be no worse than a partly sunny day with some instability clouds developing at times. Highs will just be in the low to mid 50s.

Next week brings more weather fronts marching along. The first will arrive late Monday into Monday night with showers and possibly a thunderstorm. We will dry out Tuesday into Wednesday and another front follows with a chance for showers Thursday. Temperatures will be a little below average on some days and a little above average on others. No major storms are on the horizon for the long range.
