New York City Weather, NYC Marathon, Weekend Forecast Looks Good!

Our weather conditions are improving today and it is warm this morning with some sunshine. Highs today will reach 70 to 75 in most areas before cooler air begins to arrive later this afternoon

Satellite loops show the storm in the Great Lakes lifting up to the northeast so the cool air will be with us tonight and into the weekend. Radar shows all the heavy showers and thunderstorms from yesterday and last night are now gone and there is nothing other than a passing brief shower this afternoon to worry about in one or two spots as the cold air arrives

Tonight skies will be clear. Most lows will be in the mid 30s to lower 40s.Friday and Saturday both look like nice days with some sunshine though there may be some patchy clouds on both days. Highs will be in the 50s. Sunday more clouds than sun as a weather system goes by to our north and another to our south. They stay weak and unphased. Highs will be back into the 60s. For the New York City Weather, NYC Marathon Sunday we will call for clouds and temperatures around 55 at race time.

With regards to the rainfall we received, it was a generous 1 to 3 inches for most in the area with a few exceptions. In these situtations there will always be a few spots that get a little less and some spots will get a little more. This was the first widespread rain this area has received in almost a month.

The overall pattern looks very benign longer term into the middle of next week. It seems that at least through Wednesday we will see some sunshine each day and most highs will be in the 60s. There are weak weather systems in the flow and there is a ridge in the east so anything that comes east from the Pacific will likely weaken as it approaches the east coast and this keeps the chances for rain minimal for the time being. No real cold air is in sight for the next 7 days or so.
