New Jersey Rain 1-3″ Rain Spreading Northeast
The rain has been heavy in Central & Southern New Jersey especially along the coast where 2 inches or more has fallen so far in some areas. Also heavier rain is now into Northern New Jersey though amounts have been much less and the rain has been light from NYC eastward.
The satellite loop show clouds from the storm developing along the Delaware coast getting organized now as the low will be moving northeast to off the New Jersey coast this evening and then south of Long Island tonight. Regional and local radars are showing moderate to heavy rain from Southern New Jersey north and northeastward into Southern New England all moving to the northeast. Flood Advisories are posted for some coastal counties of New Jersey as well as some of the northwestern counties. Winds are beginning to gust to 25-35 mph or more along the coast from New Jersey to Long Island and will reach gale force briefly in the next few hours and into tonight.

This weather system seems to be moving right along on schedule, perhaps a bit faster which would mean the rain will end across Central and Southern New Jersey during the afternoon and then late this evening or before midnight in the Northern and Northwestern counties of New Jersey, and then pulling away to the northeast from Long Island and Southern New England during the early morning hours on Sunday. Mothers Day should see some improvement with breaks of sun developing but some clouds and passing showers are still possible especially Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening. Temperatures are in the upper 40s and lower 50s across the entire region making for a miserable day. We should be back into the 60s on Sunday.
