Much Cooler Raw Rainy Weather Moving In

After a day of warm temperatures into the 80s but with lower humidity, we are about to experience the gloomier side of Autumn with a few days of raw conditions and temperatures struggling just into the 60s. But first we have tonight which will be dry and clear to start but clouds are already building out to the west and they will begin to arrive overnight. Overnight temperatures will cool off some to the mid 50s to lower 60s. The clouds in the Middle MIssissippi Valley are with low pressure moving east while high pressure builds across the Great Lakes & New England. The combination will bring and onshore flow with clouds increasing and thickening up on Wednesday and rain will develop later in the day from west to east. Temperatures will reach into the 70s early with a limited amount of sun but once the clouds come in temperatures will begin to settle back into the 60s.

Wednesday night into Thursday morning we will get some rain on the order of a quarter to a half an inch. Then the rest of Thursday will be overcast raw and breezy along the coast with highs just into the 60s. This will be the coolest day we have seen since back in June. Thursday night we will cool down into the upper 40s and lower 50s. Then on Friday as the high moves out to the east and the onshore flow relaxes, we will see some breaks of sunshine with highs in the 60s. Then it turns warmer with sunshine over the weekend with highs in the 70s. Some spots could get to 80 on Sunday. Then the next cold front arrives on Monday with some showers and cooler weather follows for much of next week.

RAINFALL FORECAST THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING

The overall pattern remains benign overall and favors above average temperatures overall but we will start seeing longer periods of cooler air settling in thanks to onshore winds. As far as true Canadian colder air coming in we may have to wait a bit longer.
