More Instability Showers Today But
Weather Slowly Improves Thursday into the Weekend
The blocking pattern holds today but as the satellite loop shows, the upper air circulation is beginning to move southeast from the Great Lakes. This is a sign that the block is preparing to make an exit though it will be a slow one. In the meantime the loop shows lots of clouds over the Northeast and Northern Mid Atlantic states and it is another day with clouds and showers. There may again be some low top convectoin that might produce some small hail. In between showers it will just be mostly cloudy. Temperatures today remain very chilly for this time of year with highs just in the low and middle 50s in most places.
SATELLITE
WEATHER RADAR
Radar picking up on these showers and they will last into tonight. Not everyone sees showers nor does it rain every waking minute of the day. Low pressure will develop offshore and there still could be some scattered showers tonight into Thursday morning. Most lows tonight will be in the 40s with some 30s inland.
The low offshore pulls away to the east Thursday. The atmosphere will still be a bit unstable so we will call it a mix of sun and clouds. There is still a chance there could be shower Thursday but they should be more scattered or even isolated in nature. Temperatures should nudge a little higher with the sun in the mix. Highs will be in the mid to upper 50s.
Higher pressure will start to build in Friday from Eastern Canada and as the upper trough pulls out, this should allow for more sun and fewer clouds. Highs Friday will be in the upper 50s to around 60. The warm up will continue through the weekend and skies should be no worse than partly sunny both Saturday and Sunday. Look for highs Saturday to be in the 60s. Sunday highs could actually move up into the 70s away from the ocean. At least the weekend looks good and it is a far cry from what we had last weekend.
