Minimal Issues With Snow Today Coastal Storm Moves Away Tonight

Better Weather Wednesday

Low pressure is well offshore this morning as the satellite loop shows. There is a second center in Long Island South. The coastal low will pivot around the low to the northwest and head for Cape Cod today. There is also an upper low that is showing up on the satellite loop and it is moving across Pennsylvania. This will energize the coastal system causing to intensify.

Eastern Pennsylvania to Southern New England are sitting on the  west side of all this and while it will likely mean for some snow today, the system is somewhat underwhelming. There will be some snow today, mixed with rain at times near the coast. Could there be an accumulation? Yes but it will be mostly on colder surfaces. Heavier accumulating snows will likely fall north of Route 84 especially in New England.

All of this should wind down late this afternoon and evening from west to east as the storm finally starts its move to the east. Weather conditons will improve overnight with skies partially clearing out. Winds will be strong and gusty during the day today and tonight especially near the coast where we have Wind Advisories from New Jersey to Southern New England and High Wind Warnings for Southeastern New England. Winds will gust to 50 mph or more at times especially in the high wind warning area. Temperatures overnight will drop to the upper 20s and lower 30s. Wednesday should be a nice day of sunshine with highs back into the 40s.

Things are going to warm up rather nicely for Thursday as we get a decent day of sunshine with highs reaching the 50s to around 60 degrees in southern areas. If we get enough sun there could be a little upside with the forecast highs. This is all ahead of the next weather system that will be approaching Friday. This is going to be a cold front as low pressure heads from the Plains to the Great Lakes.

Most of Friday will be dry with sunshine early and then arriving clouds. Friday highs will be in the mid 50s to lower 60s There will be some showers late in the day as the front passes It will leave us with a dry and somewhat colder weekend with some sunshine for both Saturday and Sunday. Highs will be in the 50s Saturday which will be some leftover warm air from the day before and Sunday highs will be in the 40s.
