The strongest wind gust was reported on the roof of Stonybrook Hospital (not a short building) of 95 mph which is incredible really and judging by some of the pics from yesterday not a surprise.

The weather this afternoon is alot calmer with sunshine and dry air with temps in the 80s. No severe weather is likely over the next several days and perhaps right through the weekend. Low pressure to the south still looks to stay south but it will be cool here as winds turn northeast on Friday into Saturday with a low offshore.

Notice that temps are barely back to 80 by mid afternoon Saturday. If this plays out it will also be a tad breezy with a northeast wind and that is certainly going to impact marine conditions over the weekend if you are shorebound.
