Leftover Clouds Today Friday As Low Pressure Develops Offshore
Weekend Looks Nice & Dry
Our cold front has stalled out nearby but the showers and thunderstorms from overnight are now offshore. This will leave us in a zone of changeable sky conditions today. We could describe it as cloudy to partly sunny depending on your location. Temperatures will be in the 70s to around 80 degrees for the high as the oppressive humidity of the last few days is now history but we still have a bit of house cleaning to do.
SATELLITE
WEATHER RADAR
To the south off North Carolina we have a broad low developing and this could very well become a tropical depression or tropical storm in time. However the stalled front nearby creates a pathway for any developing storm to turn north and northeast passing well to the south and east Friday and Friday night. In the meantime the radar shows most of the echoes are now offshore but there is the chance for a stray scattered shower today.
There are no issues tonight other than clouds and lows in the 60s. Friday sees the offshore low come close enough to bring a little rain to Southern New Jersey and the Delmarva peninsula for a few hours. Otherwise we will still have some clouds around Friday with highs in the 70s.
The low moves away and that brings us to what will be a nice weekend. Saturday should be a partly to mostly sunny day. Temperatures will be in the upper 70s to some lower 80s. Humidity levels will still be a bit on the high side Saturday but an upper trough will move through and drop the humidity for Sunday and Monday. Sunday and Monday highs will be in the upper 70s to lower 80s.
Next week brings another cold front on Wednesday with the chance for showers or a thunderstorm at some point until the front passes and then another dry air mass follows that to finish off next week. Most of the time next week it should be rain free as summer ends and autumn begins.
