Improving Weather Lower Humidity Sunday,

Nice Dry Warm

July 4th Week Ahead Outlook

We have a little bit of work to do but once we get the wave on the front to move by, weather conditions will improve with decreasing clouds, increasing sunshine, and decreasing humidity. Looking at the satellite loop this morning you can see the bulge in the clouds along the coast and into New England. The radar is showing some light precipitation mostly aloft except in South Jersey where some heavier echoes are showing up. To the northwest you can see dry air over Western NY and Western Pennsylvania driving southeastward. Once the dry air arrives the dew points will head south as well and we should have a nice afternoon from west to east. Highs will be in the low to mid 80s.

Skies will be clear tonight with lows in the mid 50s to lower 60s in most areas except near 65 or so in the warmest urban locations. Monday the 4th of July we have no issues. Look for sunshine with highs in the low to mid 80s. Dew points will be in the comfortable 50s and no showers or thunderstorms are forecast.

This week is a continuation of the same pattern. Cold fronts come through evey couple of days. It gets hot and humid for a day or so. We see the risk of a thunderstorm when the front passes. Then we get a day or two of dry weather and low humidity. We see no changes in that pattern for the next 10 days to two weeks. Along those lines we have a cold front approaching Tuesday. Look for some sunshine very warm to hot and humid conditions and the chance for scatttered showers or a thundertorm. Highs will be in the mid 80s to near 90. Wedndesday the front passes offshore early so we see dry slightly cooler weather returning for Wednesday and Thursday. Then another cold front comes through at the end of the week.
