Humidity Returning Along With Some Heat Over the Weekend
Dew points are up and you can certainly feel the difference today. The dew points are higher and we also have some high clouds streaming up from the south today. Temperatures are also a little higher as we head up into the low and middle 80s with filtered sunshine in most places. We don’t expect any showers or thunderstorms today as the radars are mostly quiet. However on the regional radar we see some showers well to the south and that is a sign that we will continue to see warmer and more humid conditions over the weekend. You can thank high pressure now offshore and that will be the driving force over the weekend.

Tonight will be a warm and humid night with temperatures in the mid 60s to lower 70s. We will keep an eye on those showers in Western Virginia and Western North Carolina as they move northeastward. Some of the might sneak in tomorrow morning in a few places for a brief time.
Saturday will be very warm and humid as will Sunday. We will see some sunshine and also we will throw in the chance for a shower or thunderstorm though they should be scattered in nature. Highs both days will be in the upper 80s to around 90 in the warmest spots and a little bit cooler along the shore with the wind partially off the ocean.
Next week will start out with heat and humidity for Monday and Tuesday. Highs both days will be in the mid 80s to around 90 degrees with high humidity. We do have a cold front that will be coming through on Tuesday from the northwest and this should give us a break in the humidity and heat for Wednesday and Thursday.
A busy northwest flow in the upper atmosphere means weather systems move along and while it will turn more humid at the end of next week, another cold front should follow next weekend to move the humidity out. The northwest flow in the upper atmosphere should keep moisture from any tropical systems in the Gulf of Mexico from having any impact here.
