Winter Weather Advisory For Hunterdon & Mercer Counties in New Jersey
Watching the satellite loop this morning you can see the tight twist moving across Pennsylvania and heading to the coast. But when you see the presentation on the radar, it comes with a collective yawn. There is tight area of rain and snow in Southeastern Pennsylvania and it is mostly rain as you had south into Delaware but there really isn’t much else going on. This is the problem with upper lows like this. The band of precipitation is only about 75 to 100 miles wide. Short range models aren’t exactly sounding alarm bells over this at the moment.
Look for precipitation to continue to spread northward. Snow will be mostly inland and west in New Jersey. Winter Weather Advisory is up for Hunterdon and Mercer county only. Judging by the latest HRRR model, snowfall should be on the order of a coating to an inch at most. 1 to inch snowfalls are show in Southwest New Jersey south and west of Route 195. Not much falls in Northern Jersey, Hudson Valley and Connecticut.
Freeze Warnings are up for tonight with lows in the 20s and there will be some records broken Sunday morning. Sunshine on Sunday but look for highs just in the 40s. We should reach the 50s Monday and Tuesday but clouds and showers are coming Monday night into Tuesday.
