HRRR Model Delays Saturday Sunshine
Rain For Coastal Areas Saturday Morning
Sunshine Developing Saturday Afternoon
We noted the last few days of the possibility that this weather front coming through early Saturday morning might get hung up for a few hours. It appears based on this evening’s ultra short range HRRR model that this indeed will be the case. This will prolong cloud cover through Saturday morning even for inland areas. Along the coastal areas of New Jersey, Long Island and Connecticut, there may be a few hours of rain to work through Saturday morning before it moves out around 10-11am. Then weather conditions will improve Saturday afternoon with increasing amounts of sunshine from northwest to southeast.
Radars are showing a building area of rain to the south southwest. The latest HRRR model radar view for Saturday morning shows the coast still in some rain around noon time before it moves out quickly in the early afternoon. I’m thinking (or hoping) that this is a little slow and it will move out by lunchtime along the coast.

The upside is that this developing rain does enhance the rainfall and most areas get a quarter to a half inch total. We should go partly to mostly sunny during the afternoon and Saturday night and Sunday remain fine with dry conditions. Sunday will be sunny and cool with highs in the low to mid 60s.

Monday still looks warm with some sunshine and highs in the 70s but a sinking weather front from the north could trigger off some thunderstorms late in the day. More on that possibility on Saturday’s posts.
