Holiday Shopping Weather Looks Perfect

Holiday Shopping Weather Looks Perfect

Holiday shopping has shifted into high gear and this weekend the weather forecast will be perfect to be outside with temperatures running a little above normal and no rain is in the forecast at all through Monday. The satellite loop below shows the storm off the New England coast beginning to pull away to the east. Gradually the gusty winds that were around today will diminish overnight and we should see plenty of sunshine. There are no big storms on the horizon as the next weather system is not due here until Tuesday. Radars are showing some rain and snow showers in upstate New York that will be gradually drying out and gradually the clouds will thin out and disappear. Temperatures by morning will be in the 30s everywhere.

For you snow lovers who are thinking of a weekend of skiing, the nearest snow covered areas are in Northern New England especially in Northern Maine but that is just about it when it comes to snow cover. Back home this weekend it will be nice and sunny on Friday with highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Sunday and Monday we are looking at sunshine both days with highs reaching in to the 50s.

Clear skies and light winds at night means 20s and low 30s for the lows away from warmer urban areas. Enjoy your holiday shopping or if you are out hunting for a christmas tree or whatever outdoor activity you like.  You will be doing it in relative comfort.

Monday we should squeeze in one more nice day with temperatures a little bit lower due to high pressure building in from the north. Then on Tuesday we will watch and see if low pressure off the southeast coast of the U.S. decides to either move up the coast or out to sea. If it makes it this far north it will be a cold rain and a raw and gusty northeast wind. The jury on this is still out.
