Heavy Rains Moving Northward
As of 6pm rainfall amounts across much of the area have been in the 1/2 inch to 1 inch rain. Some places in New Jersey south of Route 78 got a bit more but the final totals aren’t in yet. This strong storm developing in Northeastern Pennsylvania is heading slowly northward. Even though the heavy downpours will be ending in short order if they haven’t already weather conditions in general will be very slow to improve on Friday with a lot of clouds to chew through and the likelihood of some passing showers. Temperatures tonight and Friday will be mostly in the 40s. Real improvement will come Friday night as skies begin to slowly clear out.

Radars are still active but the solid area of heavy rain and thunderstorms continues to lift up to the northeast through Northern Connecticut, Interior New England and upstate NY. Sunshine will be back on Saturday with highs in the 50s. Sunday we will begin to warm up with highs in the 60s and sunshine. Monday and Tuesday it will be sunny with spring warmth and highs in the 70s everywhere except right along the immediate coast.
