It appears the warm sector is setting up along the New York State Connecticut border across Long Island. Areas to the west and south of this which include New Jersey NYC Hudson Valley Pennsylvania and points southward are in the warm sector with temperatures already approaching 90 in some areas. This lines up pretty well with the Storm Prediction Center idea of where severe weather is likely to develop.

Now we switch attention to the radars which are showing the beginnings of thunderstorms in West Central Pennsylvania. It looks like the timing will be late in the afternoon and evening from west to east. From here on we monitor the situation as it unfolds this afternoon. Until then temperatures will continue to rise. Long Island is in a different position as is Connecticut with a marine flow and temperatures in the 70s. The key for these areas will be whether the warm sector eventually shifts northward.
