Monday Will Be Brutal
Temperatures are approaching or hitting 90 degrees at the lunchtime hour across many locations. However there are some exceptions. Across much of Long Island and Connecticut where dry air is mixing in nicely, temperatures are in the 80s. The lower dew points have also found their way into Southern New Jersey and Southeastern Pennsylvania as well but temperatures there will finish up between 90 and 95.

Nice clear skies are on the satellite loop and the radars are quiet and they should remain so today. Late yesterday we saw some thunderstorms develop in South Jersey south of a dry line that set up across Central New Jersey. We don’t have that issue today so it should be fine into this evening barring any pop up surprise.
Now as far as Monday goes we will get back into a southwest flow ahead of a cold front. Humidity will go way up and temperatures will reach the 90s. That combination will make things very uncomfortable. There is the risk for thunderstorms in the evening as a cold front moves through. However the NAM does also show some thunderstorms in the morning as the tropical air arrives. This might impact how high temperatures get. Either way the humidity will be awful on Monday so if it doesn’t hit 95, it will still feel like 95.

The nightime cold front comes through between 8pm and 11pm so it remains to be seen whether these thunderstorms hold together.

Tuesday we should see humidity come down a bit with temperatures will be in the 90s again. Tuesday could turn out like yesterday with blazing sun and dry air coming in.
