Heat Advisory Thunderstorms Heavy Rain
With the combination of high temperatures and high humidity a Heat Advisory is in effect for the Metro NYC & the New Jersey counties south of Route 78. Excessive Heat Warning is up for the the Philadelphia metro area and the surrounding counties as well as the southwestern counties of New Jersey. Bottom line is that it is hot and it is humid. We are seeing thunderstorms developing this afternoon across much of the Hudson Valley north of Route 84 and a Flash Flood Watch is posted for that area due to excessive heavy rains forecast.

A marginal risk for severe weather exists through Thursday evening until a cold front passes and stalls to our south later Thursday night and for Friday.

Radars are busier to the north late this afternoon but some pop up showers and thunderstorms are showing up and we could see some of those become strong this evening. They tend to come and go quickly so keep an eye to the ski for threatening weather conditions.
HEAT ADVISORY THUNDERSTORMS THURSDAY’S FORECAST HIGHS
Thursday we will see highs in the low to mid 90s and another round of thunderstorms late in the day. Then Friday a change with the front stalling to our south an a wave of low pressure moving along it. This sets up and onshore flow, rain, and temperatures only in the 70s though areas in Southern New Jersey & Southeastern Pennsylvania southward could see highs into the 80s. This all leads to drier weather for the weekend with lower humidity and sunshine with temperatures in the 80s.
