Central Passaic County in northeastern New Jersey... Bergen County in northeastern New Jersey... Central Westchester County in southeastern New York... Rockland County in southeastern New York... * Until 615 PM EDT. * At 314 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly. * Some locations that will experience flooding include... Stamford, New City, Bergenfield, Paramus, Ossining, Ridgewood, Monsey, Nanuet, Ramsey, Haverstraw, Tarrytown, Pompton Lakes, Mount Kisco, Dobbs Ferry and Suffern. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately. Severe thunderstorms continue to break out this afternoon and heavy rains are causing flash flooding across parts of Northeastern New Jersey & the Hudson Valley. Be advised that more thunderstorms could pop up anywhere at anytime in the next few hours. Once we get through the evening hours the thunderstorms will disappear and we will be left with another very warm and humid night with most lows in the 70s. The 4th of July could see more pop up thunderstorms developing in the afternoon and evening though they should be gone by the time fireworks are set off tomorrow night.
